Burlington City Park

A couple of weekends ago the four of us headed to the Burlington City Park for the Carousel Festival.  It was kind of a last minute thing which turned out to be a lot of fun.

The day started off with a trip to the car wash.  Casey thought his Daddy was super funny when he sprayed the water on the windows.

We met up with a friend of ours and the foster children her family is looking after.  This little fella was about the same age as Casey.  I don't know if Casey is going to be much of a football player but he did enjoy throwing one around.

Here's a cute shot of Baby Sam taken by her Daddy!

They had several bouncy house things set up for the kids to enjoy.  So Daddy bought Casey some tickets and took him over to one of the bouncy things... which happen to be one of the largest slides there!!!  Daddy was braver than Mommy and Casey was actually braver than I thought he would be.  After his first timid slide he got up and was ready for more!

Here's Casey at the top of the big slide...

And down he goes!

This is how Samantha experienced the festivities.  It wasn't long before she was fast asleep.

Another slide.  A little smaller but just as fun!

And down he goes!

They had some really neat sandcastle artists demonstrating their building skills.  I have to say that I was impressed!

Before heading to the carousel we stopped for a short boat ride.  I think the smile on Casey's face explains how exciting he thought this was!

All aboard!

As far as I can tell there was some type of hat requirement for this particular boat.

And finally the carousel...

And after a short nap Baby Sam was ready for the fun!

MUSEP 2010

Last summer we enjoyed taking Casey to some of the MUSEP events here in Greensboro.  But this year it has been just too hot!  However we finally broke down and decided to join some of our swing dancing friends at the last event of the summer.  It was still hot but we had a good time.

Casey's thought:  "I can't wait until I can Lindy bomb this thing!"
(FYI- An email entitled "let's lindy bomb this thing" was sent to our local swing dancers inviting them to this event.)
.

So here Gary appears to be the good daddy telling his son not to put his finger in his nose.

Sadly it was just a set up for this shot.

Gary was so proud of himself!

Just another photo to show Gary's preference for the silly shots.
.

Sweet little daddy's girl!

A few fun shots of Casey flying through the air with the greatest of ease.

During the band break Casey and I walked up to the stage.  He was helping me take some pictures by looking through the view finder while I pushed the button for him.  Here is one of the shots we captured.  Thanks buddy!

Visits with various family members

Just wanted to put up some pictures of the kids with their various family mebers that come to visit.

Here is Samantha with her Nana.

Here we have Gary, Casey, Nana (Gary's mom), Samantha, and Jason (Gary's brother).

This is Samantha and her Great Grandmother (my dad's mom).

Again here is Samantha, Great Grandmother and Great Paw Paw.

And finally here is Casey, Samantha and their Pa Paw (Gary's dad).
