Casey's 2nd Birthday

This should have been posted awhile ago...
Casey had a low key 2nd birthday... which he some how managed to spread out over an entire week of celebration.  On his actual birthday he came home to find that his crib had been transformed into his new toddler bed.  That weekend we had planned a little outing for him with the family.  After going to the build a bear store and out to eat, we headed back to the house for presents and cake.  Here he is waiting for his big present from G-daddy (granddaddy) and G-mommy (grandmother).

He got his very own table and chairs (made by G-daddy)!

I guess after the excitment of receiving a big boy table and chairs the other presents seem just kind ho-hum.  He looked so serious... or maybe just not thrilled.

Hmmm... a shirt.

Casey didn't really like the fact that his new flashlight roared at him.  (He did warm up to it after awhile).

So when does the fun begin?

Okay on second thought I think I might like this birthday thing.

Notice the finger in the mouth... that's the "I'm not really sure about this" signal.

Hmmm... I'm not so sure about this one either.

Well maybe it's okay after all.

It's tough when you have to wait on the adults to quit playing so you can enjoy your own presents.  :)

Finally it's a good birthday!!!

You wouldn't have thought that his blowing technique would have done much... but it worked!

Casey got the first bite of cake!

Mmmm... it does taste pretty good.

More cake.

And we end with a cheesy grin!

Snow Day #2

We made it outside again today.  Our walk today was a little bit longer.  We discovered that it is not so easy to walk in the snow.  About halfway through the walk Casey's legs were just worn out.  After so many steps of me dragging/helping him walk Casey would just plop himself down in the snow.  We took several "breaks" but we finally made it back home!

So here's what you do when you don't have any kid size snow gloves around the house.  First you put a pair of mittens on his hands.  The next layer is a sandwhich baggy.  Finally you put on a second pair of mittens (more so to keep the baggy on than anything else).  So his hands stayed dry... but the poor thing did have trouble picking up the snow!

He's all boy... we just had to stop and look at the big truck parked in the snow.

Casey had a tough time walking in the snow.  We had to take several breaks on our way back to the house!

Snow Day!!!

I'm so glad we got a good amount of snow!  We happened to be out of town for the last snow fall and didn't get to see much of anything.  Casey really enjoyed the 5-10 minutes we spent outside yesterday.  I'm sure he was nice and warm with the tons of layers he was bundled in.  I was the one that was more than a little chilly!
